2027: Atiku, Yari Hold Closed-Door Meeting in Abuja

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday held a private meeting with former Zamfara State Governor and Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari, in Abuja.

The meeting, reportedly held at Atiku’s residence, was conducted behind closed doors, with no access granted to journalists.

According to a report by Daily Trust and eachored by DCL Hausa both political figures declined to speak to the media after the engagement. As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been issued to clarify the purpose of the meeting.

While details remain undisclosed, political observers suggest the engagement may not be unconnected with ongoing alignments and consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atiku and Yari are currently not members of the same political party, a development that has further fueled speculation about possible cross-party consultations, particularly within the northern political bloc and in relation to 2027 President .
