Koro Day: Uba Sani Celebrates 25 Years of Koro Chiefdom, Hails Unity and Cultural Heritage
Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has joined the people of Koro Chiefdom in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the creation of the chiefdom, describing the silver jubilee as a testament to the people’s enduring unity, peace and rich cultural heritage.

The governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, stated this at the anniversary celebration held at Government Secondary School, Kubacha, in Kagarko Local Government Area of the state.
Conveying Governor Uba Sani’s goodwill message, Dr Balarabe commended the people of Koro Chiefdom for sustaining peace, preserving their cultural values and contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of Kaduna State.

She described the celebration as a powerful affirmation of identity and unity, noting that the traditional institution under the leadership of the Ere Koro I has played a significant role in promoting harmony, preserving culture and strengthening the bond between government and the grassroots.

According to her, culture is not merely a relic of the past but a living force that shapes identity and guides progress. She said the distinctive arts, music and traditions of the Koro people enrich not only Kaduna State but Nigeria as a whole, fostering social cohesion and mutual understanding.

Dr Balarabe further noted that beyond the colourful displays of music, dance and traditional attire, the festival also serves as a platform for development and economic empowerment of the people.

She reiterated the commitment of the Kaduna State Government to recognising culture as a catalyst for development under the people-centred leadership of Governor Uba Sani, who prioritises peace, inclusiveness and equitable development while creating an enabling environment for communities to celebrate their heritage.

The deputy governor assured that the state government would continue to work closely with traditional and community leaders to improve the living standards of the people, attract investments, enhance infrastructure and ensure sustainable growth across communities.

She urged youths of the chiefdom to look beyond the festivities and seize the opportunities for cooperation, innovation and enterprise, using culture as a bridge between their rich heritage and future aspirations.
