Atiku Haske Organisation Dissociates Self from Defection of Atiku’s Son to APC
The Atiku Haske Organisation of Nigeria has dissociated itself from the recent defection of a son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as a purely personal decision that does not reflect the position of the organisation or its members nationwide.
The Coordinator of the organisation, Aminu Sani Bello, made this known in a statement issued on Friday stressing that the group remains firmly aligned with Atiku Abubakar and his political ideals.
According to Bello, the decision by Atiku’s son to join the APC should not be misconstrued as a shift in loyalty by supporters of the former Vice President or organisations associated with his political project.
“We wish to state clearly and in strong terms that the Atiku Haske Organisation dissociates itself from the recent defection of Atiku Abubakar’s son to the APC. That action is entirely personal and does not in any way represent our collective stance,” he said.
Bello emphasised that those who have stood with Atiku Abubakar over the years remain united and unwavering, noting that the former Vice President’s political family and support base are still intact across the country.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to Atiku Abubakar, whom he described as a patriotic Nigerian who has consistently worked for the unity, progress and development of the nation.
“We are expressing our full support and continued commitment to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who has served this country with all his heart and has continued to offer ideas and leadership for national development,” Bello added.
The coordinator further stated that the Atiku Haske Organisation would not be distracted by individual political choices, insisting that its members remain resolute and focused on promoting the vision and values espoused by Atiku Abubakar.
“He is on his own. We remain resolute and committed to the Atiku project. Our belief in his leadership, capacity and vision for Nigeria has not changed,” he declared.
The statement called on supporters of the former Vice President to remain calm and steadfast, assuring them that the organisation would continue to mobilise and engage Nigerians in support of Atiku Abubakar’s democratic ideals and national agenda.
The Atiku Haske Organisation is a nationwide political support group known for mobilising grassroots backing for Atiku Abubakar and advocating policies centred on unity, economic growth and good governance.
