Northern APC Forum Backs Kailani Muhammad as National Chairman
The Northern APC Grassroots Advocacy and Mobilisation Forum has thrown its weight behind Professor Kailani Muhammad, urging the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to elect him as the party’s next National Chairman.
Speaking at a press conference, the group—which boasts membership across the 19 Northern states—described Professor Muhammad as a loyal party stalwart and a grassroots mobilizer with an unbroken history of commitment to the APC and its antecedents.
The Chairman of the Forum noted that Professor Muhammad was a pioneer member of the All People's Party (APP), which later became the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), then merged into the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), and eventually formed part of the coalition that birthed the APC.
“He has never left the party or wavered in his commitment,” the Forum leader said. “Professor Kailani is the most experienced and capable among all aspirants for the chairmanship. He has proven his leadership capacity, especially as National Chairman of APC Support Groups during the 2023 elections, which played a critical role in delivering victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Describing him as “result-oriented and deeply rooted at the grassroots,” the Forum emphasized that although Professor Muhammad has never held public office, he has built a broad network of loyal supporters and political allies across the 36 states of the federation.
“He has the will, capacity, and charisma to unite the party, galvanize support, and position APC for another victory in 2027,” the Forum asserted.
The group urged President Tinubu and the APC leadership to consider his emergence as National Chairman, stressing that his loyalty, long-standing service to the party, and ability to mobilize support nationwide make him the most qualified candidate for the position.
