INFORMATION MINISTER SEEKS EX-COUNCILORS' SUPPORT FOR TINUBU'S ADMINISTRATION

The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has called on the National Forum of Ex-Councilors to leverage its extensive grassroots network to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in spreading and promoting the dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Minister made the appeal on Friday, July 11, 2025, when the leadership of the Forum, led by its National President, Amb. Hon. Auwal Kasim Hassan, paid him a courtesy visit at the Radio House, Abuja.

While addressing the delegation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris highlighted key achievements of the Tinubu administration, which include:

The passage of the Tax Reform Law

Advocacy and progress toward Local Government Autonomy

Creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development

Establishment of the Ministry of Regional Development

Introduction of the Student Loan Scheme

Launch of the Ministry of Blue Economy

Ongoing road construction projects across the country


The Minister expressed appreciation to the Forum for conferring on him a prestigious award, describing it as a “motivating tonic” that will further inspire him to deliver more people-oriented services in line with President Tinubu’s vision for national development.

In his remarks, the National President of the Forum, Amb. Hon. Auwal Kasim Hassan, who was accompanied by his Vice President, Hon. Samaila Munir Alabi (Oyo State), and Assistant National Secretary, Hon. Cole Michael (Kogi State), commended the Minister’s commitment to grassroots engagement and described him as an epitome of people-oriented service delivery, which earned him the Forum’s recognition.

Amb. Hon. Auwal Kasim Hassan further assured the Minister of the unwavering support of Ex-Councilors nationwide, stressing that as true grassroots stakeholders, they are committed to ensuring the success of the Tinubu administration and will mobilize actively for his re-election in 2027.
