Ex-Councilors Laud Information Minister for Excellent Service Delivery
The National Forum of Ex-Councilors of Nigeria has commended the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Malagi, for his outstanding performance, professionalism, and political acumen since assuming office.

Speaking at a press conference in Kaduna, the National President of the Forum, Hon. Amb. Auwal Kasim Hassan, highlighted some of the key achievements of the Minister in the last two years.

Hon. Hassan noted that under the leadership of Alhaji Malagi, the National Orientation Agency has become more vibrant and proactive. He further commended the Minister for revitalizing critical information institutions such as the Voice of Nigeria (VON), the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) across the six geo-political zones of the country.

The former grassroots lawmakers, drawn from the 774 local government areas of Nigeria, praised the Minister’s commitment and proactiveness in delivering on his mandate.

When asked about the criteria used in assessing the Minister’s performance, Hon. Hassan stated that the Forum has been consistently monitoring the activities of all Ministers since their inauguration by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He added that Alhaji Malagi has demonstrated commendable professionalism—leveraging his affiliation with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to effectively engage Nigerians across political and religious divides.

Describing the Minister as “a round peg in a round hole,” Ambassador Hassan lauded Alhaji Malagi for his strategic role in sensitizing Nigerians on the Tax Reform Initiatives of President Tinubu, aligning perfectly with the objectives of the administration's Renewed Hope Agenda.

In conclusion, the Forum urged the Minister not to be distracted by detractors but to remain focused on delivering more impactful results for the nation.
