Kaduna Central APC Stakeholders Rally for Comrade Shehu Sani’s Return to the Senate
In a major political development, prominent APC members from across the seven local government areas of Kaduna Central Senatorial District—Giwa, Birnin Gwari, Igabi, Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Chikun, and Kajuru—have begun mobilizing for the return of Comrade Shehu Sani to the Senate.
Speaking in a strategic meeting held in Kaduna, seven key APC stakeholders expressed their dissatisfaction with the current representation by the PDP senator, stating that the people of Kaduna Central no longer feel the presence of effective leadership in the Red Chamber.
A Collective Call for Change
Malam Usman Bako from Giwa LGA lamented that since the PDP took over the senatorial seat, the district has witnessed a decline in quality representation. “We had a senator who was vocal, fearless, and stood for the people. Today, we have a senator we barely hear from. Kaduna Central needs a voice that will speak for the masses, and that voice is Comrade Shehu Sani,” he declared.
Hajiya Zainab Dikko from Birnin Gwari added that the lack of impactful legislation and constituency projects has left many APC loyalists and even non-partisan citizens disillusioned. “Our people are yearning for change, and we believe that Shehu Sani is the right man to reclaim Kaduna Central for the APC,” she noted.
Grassroots Support Growing
Alhaji Musa Idris from Igabi emphasized that beyond party politics, what matters most is competence and service delivery. “Even those who did not initially support Shehu Sani in 2019 are now admitting that he was the better choice. We cannot afford to repeat the same mistake in 2027,” he stated.
In Kaduna North, Comrade Ibrahim Lawal stressed that APC’s victory in the senatorial election is certain if the party fields a strong candidate like Shehu Sani. “The reality is that Kaduna Central will return to APC, but only if we put forward a vibrant and tested leader. Otherwise, we risk losing again,” he warned.
Hassan Yusuf from Kaduna South argued that Sani’s tenure in the Senate was marked by bold interventions and people-centered policies. “We need someone who will challenge anti-people policies and fight for the interests of Kaduna Central. The current senator has been too silent, and the people are not happy,” he said.
Unity in the Quest for Change
Barrister Aisha Suleiman from Chikun maintained that the APC leadership must recognize the growing call for Shehu Sani’s return. “We are not just speaking for ourselves; we are speaking for thousands of party members and ordinary citizens who want real representation,” she explained.
Similarly, Mallam Kabiru Danlami from Kajuru stated that the failure of the PDP senator to effectively engage with constituents has made the case for Shehu Sani’s return even stronger. “If APC truly wants to win, then the choice is clear. We must bring back our most effective senator,” he concluded.
Conclusion
As the 2027 elections draw closer, the momentum for Comrade Shehu Sani’s return continues to grow. With APC stakeholders across Kaduna Central uniting behind him, it is becoming increasingly evident that the party’s best shot at reclaiming the senatorial seat lies in fielding a candidate who has the people’s trust. If the APC listens to the voices of its members and the electorate, Kaduna Central could once again have a senator who will truly represent their interests.
