NRM Mourns Chief Edwin Clark, calls him a father figure and good example

National Rescue Movement (NRM) under the able leadership of Prince (Dr) Chinedu Obi (Ohamadike) joins other well-meaning Nigerians
to express heartfelt condolences to the family of Pa Edwin Clark, "the Ijaw nation, the good people of
the Niger Delta, the government of Delta State and the entire country".

This was obtained in a statement titled: "NRM Mourns Chief Edwin Clark" signed by the Acting National Publicity Secretary, Peter Letsuwa, and made available to pressmen on Wednesday February 19, 2025; on behalf of the leadership and the entire members of National Rescue Movement (NRM).

The party further refers to him as an "elder statesman, a patriot, a towering figure in Nigeria political system, and the leader of Pan Niger-Delta Forum (PANDEF)"

Adding that, "though papa is gone, but his legacy lives on. He will be remembered by generations yet
unborn through history, as a defender of democracy as well as a consistent voice in the pursuit of social justice and resource control for the Niger Delta.

"We in NRM will always remember Pa Clark not only as a father figure, but as a good example to emulate when it comes to passionately standing for truth and selflessly defending the oppressed.

"May God forgive his shortcomings and grant his soul eternal rest. Amen!" he concludes
