Group frowns at Allegations of Maladministration Against FUDMA VC ...Says He Clean Records of Performance
Group under umbrella of Northern Coalition of Socio-Political Forum has come out strongly to defend the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-ma,(FUDMA), Prof. Armaya'u Hamisu Bichi over allegations of maladministration belled against him on social media by a Former Staff of the institution.
According to the group, the need to defend the Vice Chancellor is imperative considering his records of performance;sound leadership prowess and financial discipline earned over decades.
The group ,which described the social media publication by the dismissed former staff, Shehu Abubakar Tadda as "Unnecessary Distractions" ,however urged the public, especially students of the University to disregard the information about the House of Representatives invitation on the matters of corruption and mismanagement . Adding that if invited by National Assembly,the VC will honour it.
The information circulating on social media claimed,t Shehu Abubakar Tadda wrote a complaint letter inviting the House of Representatives Committee on Tertiary institutions to investigate alleged maladministration and incompetent leadership by the VC.
In the press statement signed by the National President of Northern Coalition of Socio-Political Forum,Comrade Musa Mohammed, "The trending social media information is nothing but a calculated attempt by some mischievous elements to damage the hard earned reputation of the Vice Chancellor,who has inculcated the culture of financial discipline since he assumed office
The statement made available to journalists in Kaduna further further held that Prof. Bichi has a good working relationship with members of staff and management that helped to drive development of the University.
"Though we are aware that the Management of Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, has refuted the claims circulating in the media that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi has been summoned by the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions.
"But we glad to announce that the university has clarified that neither the Vice Chancellor nor the institution has officially received any invitation regarding the alleged appearance on September 18, 2024.
"In the response,the university expressed surprise about the purported House of Representatives invitation from social media with emphasis that Prof. Bichi holds great respect for the National Assembly and would honour any formal request."
It later discovered that a former staff member, Shehu Abubakar Tadda was behind the social media publication because, he was dismissed by the Governing Council after due process was followed.
