Revocation of Certificate of Occupancy, Suspension of Senator Makarfi Huge Joke Taken Too Far ,Says Group
Group under aegis of Makarfi Ambassadors has condemned outrightly the threat by Kaduna State Governor,Mal. Nasir El-Rufai to revoke the Right of Occupancy of nine companies belonging to former Governor, Senator Ahmed Muhammed Makarfi.
According to the group, the decision to serve Senator Makarfi a notice of revocation of Right of Occupancy and demolition is not only insensitive ,but also inconsiderate .
"The action in our opinion is a huge joke taken too far considering the fact that the El-Rufai led government is not unaware of how thorough and cautious was Makarfi during his days as the Governor of Kaduna State.
"For Governor Makarfi served the people of Kaduna State meritoriously without blemish and should not be treated with disdain for political reasons".the group noted .
In a press statement Jointly signed by Mr. Abdullahi Ahmed, the Coordinator General-Matters, and Engr. Bolade Aina, Coordinator Planning/Strategy of the Makarfi Ambassadors, the group vowed to join Senator Makarfi in the legal battle to reclaim his properties .
The statement further reads :"It is obvious that this last minute action by Governor El-Rufai is apparently a tactics to weaken the main opposition party , PDP on its quest to reclaim the stolen mandate in court .
"We are also ready to mobilise all our members and Electorate across the 23 local government areas of the State to fight all attempts to impose an unpopular government on the good people of Kaduna State."
Similarly, the Makarfi Ambassadors described as unfortunate the sponsored suspension of Senator Makarfi by the PDP ward executives of Tudun Ward in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna over alleged anti-party activities.
It said ," We are glad the National body of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the purported suspension of its former acting National Chairman and former governor of Kaduna State by his ward is not consistent with its constitution and as such null and void and of no effect.
In same vein, the Mr. Felix Hyet PDP, in Kaduna State did fault the purported suspension , describing the action as the handiwork of a few misguided people.
"We are deeply saddened that some disgruntled elements at the ward level of the party would allow themselves to be used as agents of destruction just peanuts .
"We therefore urge the National body of the PDP to take decisive measure to punish all those involved in the suspension saga to serve as deterrent to others in future."
