New ALGON IMC Chairman, Hon. Abubakar set to reposition LG Affairs

...Says no mercy for lawbreakers, usurpers within Association 


The newly elected Chairman of the Interim Management Committee of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Hon. Abubakar U. Abdullahi vowed to take strides in repositioning and redefining the association for sustainable grassroots development across Nigeria.

Abdullahi, who is the Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Federal Capital Territory ,Abuja stated this while addressing newsmen after his selection as IMC National Chairman during the extraordinary NEC meeting held in Abuja on Thursday.

According to him, the Association, which has been hijacked by the Kolade Alabi led faction, through impersonation amongst others will be recovered, repositioned and redefined to meet with the expectations of its mandate and lawbreakers within shall meet with dire legal consequences.

He said;"I am thrilled to have been appointed as Chairman of the association, and I accept it in good faith. I will fulfill my duties with utmost dedication and efficiency while maintaining the standards set by the Association." 

The Chairman further pledged that the association will be repositioned to fast-track local government development and change whatever bad narrative the usurpers have drawn to it through their malicious acts of lies, deceit and fraudulent practices.

He however, urged all members of ALGON across the country to join hands with him he quest to ensure local government areas get the deserved attention needed to make it more functional in line with its constitutional roles .

While promising to operate an open door policy, he  thanked members  for the confidence reposed in him to lead ALGON during this crucial transitional period.
