New Naira Notes : Senator Uba Sani Cautions CBN Against Further Extension

...Says those seeking extension are selfish politicians 

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Senator Uba Sani has cautioned the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) against any further extension beyond the period given deposit of old naira notes .

According to the Senator representing, Kaduna Central Senatorial District, the timeline is not the problem ,but the potential danger of criminals printing the new naira notes before it get into  wide circulation. 

Senator Uba Sani ,who spoke on TVC  programme recently disclosed," Lots of people complaining about timeline are politicians, whose considerations are the period of elections .

Uba Sani further  said the politicians  seeking for extension of the CBN deadline till after the general  elections are only being selfish about it.

He queried," Why did we have to tarry  ,when the reason behind the redesign is very critical.Which means the idea behind the naira redesign is just to serve interest of the few in this country,but our concern is the overall interest of Nigerians.

He however reiterated ,"We  cannot wait until after the elections. I believe  from now till 31 January , everyone should able to change legitimate money."
